Frequently Asked Questions

What is Metal Finishing?
Metal finishing is the process of placing some type of metal coating on the surface of a metal part or component. This can involve the implementation of a process for cleaning, polishing or otherwise improving a surface.
What Types of Metal Finishing Solutions Do You Offer?
There are various types of metal finishes used to create distinct effects, enhancing the appearance, durability, and conductivity of metal products while also offering resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and abrasion.
  • Powder Coating - a modern style of finishing metal using a dry powder that includes pigments, leveling agents, flow modifiers and other additives.
  • E-Coating - this metal finishing involves immersing a metal substrate in an epoxy or water-based paint solution, using an electric current to deposit the suspended particles on the material’s surface.
  • Plating - There are different types of metal plating processes, such as electroplating, electroless plating, and immersion plating.
  • Anodizing - this electrochemical procedure involves oxidizing the outer layer of a metal workpiece by soaking it in chromic acid electrolyte and passing an electric current through it.
  • Sanding and Grinding - this process uses abrasive wheels to smooth out surfaces, using a variety of methods ranging from grinding machines, bench grinders, wheel grinders, or handheld power tools, the manufacturer can reduce surface roughness.
  • Bead Blasting - this is a surface finishing technique that uses fine glass or steel beads as a blasting medium.
  • Silk Screening - a type of metal finishing that employs the use of fine polyester mesh and a squeegee or blade and a polyester mesh to apply paint to a specifically designed section of metal.
